LightFoot guides to the Three Saints' Way
The name, Three Saint's Way, has been created by the authors of the LightFoot guide, but is based on the three saints associated with this pilgrimage: St Swithin, St Michael and St James.
Far from being a single route, it is in fact a collection of intersecting routes:
The Millenium Footpath Trail starting in Winchester and ending in Portsmouth, England
The Chemin Anglais to Mont St Michel
The Plantagenet Way to St Jean d'Angely, where it intersects with the St James Way (starting from Paris).
Winchester to Mont St Michel
The guide is the first in a 2 volume series that describes the route for walkers riders and cyclists from Winchester to join the St James Way in France. The name, Three Saint's Way, is based on the three saints associated with this pilgrimage: St Swithin, St Michael and St James. Far from being a single route, it is in fact a collection of intersecting routes, comprised of the Millenium Footpath Trail in England and the Chemin Anglais in France, which ultimately intersects with the St James Way in St Jean d'Angely. This book traces 243 kilometres from Winchester in England, to Mont St Michel in France. The entire distance has been GPS traced and divided into manageable sections of approximately 15 kilometres, accommodation is listed for the entire length of each section.
Mont St Michel to St Jean d'Angeley
The guide is the second in a 2 volume series that describes the route for walkers riders and cyclists from Winchester to join the St James Way in France. This book traces 547 kilometres from le Mont St Michel in France to Saint Jean d'Angely. The entire distance has been GPS traced and divided into manageable sections of approximately 26 kilometres, accommodation is listed for the entire length of each section.
